For the first time in my life I'm having a doctor refuse to electronically send a prescription to my pharmacy, even after explaining I can't drive so I don't know when I'll be able to get down there. They told me to have someone else drop it off to the pharmacy. I'm just so annoyed.

Former pharmacy tech here. The only reason for this should be if it's in the controlled substance drug list, as you can't fax those. If that's not the case, then they should be able to fax it unless their machine is down.

According to Google, it isn't a controlled substance. It's Ubrelvy. They're just flat out refusing to send it

I've had doctors send controlled substance prescriptions directly to a pharmacy for me on several different occasions (and circumstances). I obviously don't know if they were faxing or sending through some other means, but it can be done, at least in Arizona and in Florida.

I googled it, and it is not a controlled substance. No idea why your dr. is being an ass. Does not make any sense. Call back, ask if they can fax it. Make sure you have your pharmacy's fax # ready in case they say yes. It might be you just need to call and talk to the "right" person, know what I mean?

re; "...drop it off to the pharmacy." So it not expired? Can't you just call the pharmacist and ask them to fill it? Or is it a brand new prescription and all you have is a slip of paper?

Brand new script, I only had a piece of paper. I was thankfully able to find a ride.
