Non Religious Support Groups (self.Blind)

So I am looking for a support group that isn't based in any sort of religion. I myself am not religious and having a hard time finding one that isn't. I don't believe and do not want to start some meeting praying or "lifting my troubles into the lords hands." I thought I had found one on fb, but quickly realized it wasn't when I was kicked out for refusing to join the group prayer.
I just want somewhere I can go to get support, be myself, talk about what is going on, and not have to worry about someone else's religion. Are there any groups like this? And where can I find one.

Yes for sure! There’s a group of us that started one just a few weeks ago. You can email me at blindredditors@gmail.com and I’ll send you some more details. There are no prequisites other than being blind.

Hey, I'm just curious do you have to be completely blind to join, or can you be considered legally blind but still have some Vision in your eye? Don't think I'll be able to join just because of privacy reasons but I want to know just in case I can share that message with a couple of my friends that I know that are also blind what have some vision.

maybe its time not to start a support group but start a group that just meets. Im not that bothered about starting and running it, but i dont mind saying time and place and just chat no agenda. see what happens from there. Religion or not, There are universal things we as VI folks face and that is worth facing together. Failingthat why not just start chatting with someone one on ane and then invite someone later if you like and let it be organice it grows if it grows and dont if it dont.

What was your point in responding to this? It wasn't to actually help finding what I needed. You saw I was looking for a place to accept me and decided to jump in because I don't want to be in a group that focuses on a religion I don't believe in?
My Christian mother was actually a little upset by how unacceptable you are to somebody looking for support even if it isn't for your religion (and hers). But then again she accepted me even when I stopped believing. And yes she saw my post. I showed it to her when I showed her your comment. She doesn't see the mockery in it.

Just stop. I don't know what your problem is but I don't care either. I'm not religious and want a support group that's the same. I've found one. Your comments are unneeded and unwanted. I don't have to be a part of something I don't want to be. You want a group that prays go for it, but don't come after someone who disagrees and looks for another way.
