Have you ever used a globe built for use for visually impaired people? Do you own one? (self.Blind)

Also known as “tactile world globes.”

Unlike globes that are flat on its surface, these globes have perforations that mark coastlines, borders, cities, and latitude and longitude lines.

Anyways. Are these globes common? Do few blind redditors know about them or are they own by every blind person there is?

I used one in high school, no idea what was done with it afterwards now I think about it...

The only one I've ever come across was outside of the dining hall at Camp Bloomfield in Malibu, California. I suspect it's no longer there.

My team has made one before, using foam glued onto globe beach ball. Due to size limitations, it was mostly just the basic layout of the continents and some countries.

Such things are available commercially. Here is one from APH.

It has the shape of the continents, as well as markings for latitude and longitude. I don't think it covers cities, as that detail may be too small. But not sure.
