I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place. I don't really know anyone else with similar type scenario.

I'm 35 now and I've had dethatched retinas in both eyes multiple times. For whatever reason I had the lens in my left eye removed at a very young age, not sure if due to cataracts or what.

About two years ago I had a muscle surgery to better line up the eyes. This sort of helped with vision and decreased the double vision I was getting.

After that I ended up talking to a doctor that wanted to try to help me gain vision back. First they tried a hard aphakic lens and I couldn't tolerate it even w/numbing drop in my eye.

They were able to get me a soft one and now after having it for 3 days I'm very excited for what my come.

One extremely odd thing I've started to notice is that I see colors WAY brighter in my left eye . Its like someone turned the contrast up by 40-50%. This wasn't as obvious before I had the lens bc I couldn't' see that well at all but with the lens I can see a little better and its way more noticeable.

It is possible the lens is helping to focus the light better, and with more light landing on the macula (the portion of your eye mainly responsible for colour vision), you can see colours more. But you can talk to your doctor a bit more about it.

I do plan to bring it up, there's just three different ones at this point.

Retinal specialist, two diff Optometrist, and then a childrens eye specialist (even though im 35) that handled the muscle surgery.

I don't see the last one at the moment but may need slight adjustment later after lens is implanted if I go through with it.
