A little app called Iris, usually set to Programmer mode (except while on zoom) does wonders for my computer vision.

Have her get familiar with the accessibility settings in the tech she already uses (phone, computer, etc.) If she’s open to getting help, there may be a nonprofit near you that offers lessons.

What kind of tech does she use now? I second looking into making it accessible before anything happens, if only to take one of the items off her plate if she does end up losing vision.
I do pretty much everything with my iPhone, except my tabletop gaming and a browser game that doesn't work well on mobile. I'm also a huge fan of the pen friend, but I basically only use it if I absolutely have to. Memorization and not buying a ton of similar things helps with most of it.

Also, I have a suggestion for you have her look up Molly Burke, she is a blind YouTuber and she actually did a few videos on accessibility know she mostly talks about Apple products because apple is the most accessible for the blind from what I've been hearing from that only my blind friends and co-workers but also Molly herself.
She has a few videos out now, and they're very good quality and Molly is a very talented person who does makeup tutorials to well, at least I think she does I can't remember I think at one point she was doing them but I think she stopped at this point but I'm not sure.
And as someone stated before, check around you might actually have a local nonprofit that can help something else I would recommend get in touch with your local chapter of the nfb or national Federation of for the blind. They offer one free white cane every 6 months so you might want to ask your significant other that is if she doesn't already have a cane to look into getting that so that you guys don't have to worry about that when that happens that's what I've done.
Also, if your wife doesn't already have a job something else I'm going to suggest here and this may also actually help you as far as technology recommendations as well look and see if you have a business similar to the Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind if you have a business like that that's floating around your neck of the woods they made no other organizations that can help this one like that in my area and it's very helpful. So even if she doesn't get a job with them so they can point her in the direction of good services. And if he does need a job they can give her one.
