Is using the word blind as a verb ableist? (“to blind”)(self.Blind)

I’m (16f) and I’m legally blind and I like to write poems also. Anyway no I have no problem with what you wrote. I can’t speak for everyone though but I will say that most of the time when people ask if what they said were wrong here they usually had nothing to be worried about.

I am blind I do not care if you use blind as a verb it is a verb and an adjective I don't see how it is abelist

You're fine. Nobody cares. Well almost nobody.
And even if someone were to get all wound up about this stuff, personally, I take the view that there are way bigger things to worry about than words. Sticks and stones.

I completely agree with you on the central point of the question, but if you think words don't matter, you might want to go (re)read 1984. Words are how wee build our thoughts and they shape the way we think and, hence, the way we act. Some things are more important than others, but all the pieces matter.

The problem is, that's linguistic determinism, and it's been shown to be false. Orwell might have believed it but it is not actually true. If we agree certain words are bad then there is no harm in using them. Exposure to certain ideas doesn't make us believe those ideas are good.
What it does do is make us more resilient and less likely to be messed with. This is why trigger warnings, safe spaces and all that jazz are really bad because they make us over sensitive and unable to deal with negative stuff. And since we're always going to encounter negative stuff, since we will never live in a perfect world, we need that resilience. A psychiatrist would never ever tell you to overcome a phobia by avoiding it. That's a temporary solution at best.
And all of that assumes the word is somehow even potentially offensive in the first place which this is not.

I told you to read 1984 and you decided you had to tell me the world isn't all roses and rainbows?
I really don't want to get into a thing here, but can't you imagine living in a world that's somewhere in between safe spaces and people killing each other in the streets?

no it's fine
you're explaining what you're doing (taking out an eye) that's not ableist it's factual and therefor totally fine

It would not be an ablest term because you are using it as a verb. You are blinding the fish by dissecting the eyes.
