I lost my central vision in my right eye. I am also very near sighted and like to close my bad eye when I'm reading. Short term closing my bad eye works fine but long term it causes discomfort. I'm looking for eye patch recommendations. Comfort is important but blocking all light out is my main goal. Help me out here Reddit!

For a long time, my situation was similar to yours. I got good results wearing a fabric patch that attached to my glasses. In my opinion, they're a lot easier to make than around-the-head ones. You could also talk to an optician about having your glasses lens frosted.

I connected with a local leather crafter, and gave him a basic design, The finished product is pretty comfortable, affordable, and durable (and fits fairly well under my glasses). I am able to wear it pretty much every waking moment. I recently ordered another one, and just picked it up today!

I made my own. I could not find one that fit the way I needed it to.

I'm starting to think that's best. They either don't fit great or uncomfortable. And the novelty eye patches are just painful.
