Struggling with Accessibility on Amazon (self.Blind)
submitted by ABlindManPlays
Hello all, I have advanced keratoconus and I'm very photosensitive as a result. Dark mode on most websites has helped me continue to be active online, but it's an imperfect solution. A few websites like Amazon do not play well with it and continue to be blindingly white despite my Chrome extension for dark mode. I do most of my shopping online and this has been a severe hindrance as of late.

Does anyone have a better extension, or a method to make dark mode work on Amazon?

I use Dark Reader on all my browsers. Here's $1. It's, by far, the best extension for this.

Otherwise, have you checked the settings on your monitor? I've found the blue light modes helpful for cutting down extra brightness.

If nothing else and you are on a Mac, you can quickly invert the monitor colors using Command+Option+Control+Shift+8 or toggle it in Accessibility settings. I'm not sure how it works now with Dark mode since I went blind before that became a thing, but when I had vision, I'd use the invert color command regularly so I could read email and interact with bright websites and apps.

Type in the address bar: Chrome://flags, and search for Dark, and enable the flag who says, force dark mode for web contents, it also works on android or iOS, Hope this is help you.
