I had an embarrassing thing happen today. I was having a socially distanced walk with a friend, and ended up walking a little further than expected, and it started to get a little darker. As we were heading home, I walked into a branch that was sticking out and it smacked me in the face. I wasn't hurt and I'm lucky I have glasses. But I didn't even notice it until it smacked me.

I ran smack into the tree in my yard the other day. I listen for it while I was walking, found it, turned my head and ran right smack into it. I think there's a reason why granny always called me Grace.

Was the tree OK?

My very first ever post on this site was about that. Usually I just get my hair decorated with bits of twig and leaf, but it happens.
On the upside one of our lovely neighbours was immediately outside with a hedge trimmer. I've never had anyone ask how tall I am for a practical reason before!

Ooh I feel you, this always seems to happen to me when there are people around haha. It is also one of the reasons I will never wear contacts; My glasses have saved my eyes from an impending poke more than once.
I think the most embarrassing but funniest accident I have had was walking way too fast and tripping over a fire hydrant while talking with coworkers. I literally flipped over to the other side, stood up, brushed myself off, and finished talking as if nothing had happened lol.

Branches to the head are the worst. I hit a branch so hard I was on the floor for a couple of minutes before I recovered.
I wish people would cut branches that block footpaths.

A few weeks ago i walked into a fire hydrant after crossing the street. I was practicing using my cane but i had stopped using it when i got to the curb. I learned a lesson i guess. Dont stop moving the cane lol but i know some people saw me from their cars so it was pretty embarrassing and kinda hurt my shin a bit.

1. It happens to “normies” (little joke I call my fully sighted friends) all the time too. Live, learn, laugh. 2. A major reason to wear a brimmed cap, and sunglasses all the time when walking/traveling. A tip from my O&M instructor. The cap helps cut glare and protect your eyes, as well as giving you a sensory queue something may be approaching your face. 3. Even though my guide dog is trained to avoid objects like thisbranches grow, so a path once clear becomes obstructEd. C‘est le vie

My town is littered with the sad broken limbs of trees that poked me in the face one too many times
