Survey: Interface Design for an Indoor Navigation App (self.Blind)
submitted by wonderasyouwander
Hello everyone! I am a graduate student from Rochester Institute of Technology and I am currently conducting an IRB-approved research study on the interface design for an indoor navigation application for the blind and visually impaired.

While there are accessibility guidelines available for app development from both iOS and Android, these guidelines are typically focused on labels, text size, etc. Most of the time, development of the actual user interface is highly dependent on sighted developers. As such, I am investigating any other priorities such as the number of buttons on the screen and their location, sorting order, or other customizations.

We would love to hear from you! A link to the survey regarding this topic is added at the end of the post. You will be entered in a raffle for $20 gift cards upon completion of the survey as our thanks for sharing your opinion. There is also a sign-up for interviews at the end of the survey if you are interested in a more in-depth talk on your thoughts and experiences.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to DM me or add a comment below. Thank you so much for your time!

US specific again? Can the mods do something about this now, second time in a week. i'm all for surveys but 1, the world does not revolve around the states and 2, if it needs to, please put it in the damned post.

Hello there. Thank you for the interest and I do apologize for that confusion. That was my mistake for adding a state-specific question. I have modified the question such that you can enter your own location (country) instead of just the state.

We only have two requirements: you have to be over 18 years old and identify as blind or visually impaired.
