I'm looking to engage Blind/Visually Impaired Cosplayers in order to help assist with the development of a short film I am working featuring a Blind Cosplayer as the main character.
The questions I have for the community are:
What are some of your positive experiences about being a blind cosplayer?
What are some of your negative experiences about being a cosplayer?
What kinds of stories would you like told about cosplaying and having a visual impairment in general?
What are the challenges to being a blind cosplayer?
What are some of the things you don't like about stories featuring blind characters?
I'm also open to advice on how to engage with the blind community and cosplayer community in general.

I only really cosplayed once before and that was when I cosplayed as Matt Murdock from Daredevil a blind main character of the show. Most people were cool with me cosplaying someone yelled at me for cosplaying as a blind person even though I am blind

So I don't have many stories but I did cosplay one time. My brother is a big cosplayer, and he helped make me a quick Daredevil costume for the one time we went to a local Comic Con. I'm sure I didn't get as many pictures as he did, but got a few people who instantly recognized me (including a couple who were there together as fellow characters from the Netflix show) and a Deadpool character and a Spiderman character. All of these people were surprised that I was blind in real life and thought it was cool that I chose to embrace my disability by being Daredevil.
Whenever I get to go to another Comic Con I would like to maybe be Chirrut Imwe, from Rogue One.
