I had an android Samsung core prime and had problems with it navigating. I got frustrated with its lack of response. I went to the other side with an iphone SE. The SE was only $400 and seems like a better quality build and responds better as well a bit more logical to use. I wasn't a big apple fan but the phone is so much more intuitive and suits my needs.

I prefer Voice Over over Talk Back. Gestures are much smoother & navigation feels so much easier. Although phones can be pricey, you can always find deals. I often visit the SlickDeals website. I have an iPhone SE & I was able to get one for practically free with billing credits from my carrier.

I’m legally blind. I have a Google Pixel and I like it because it has an “accessibility button” that can be toggled in the settings. So, I can use my phone normally, or hit the accessibility button that’s always on my screen to turn on my magnifier. It also has quick access to Google assistant (which I prefer to Siri) and Google lens, which I used to identify bugs, plants, cars and more. The camera is very clear for zooming around, too. I’m sure other phones have similar features, I’ve just had great luck with mine.

Look into other models, not only Samsung, it's android everywhere so you'll get almost everything the same out of the box + google app store. (except china models like Huawei they have their own app store due to sanctions).
I have a Samsung and it blow my mind that after one of the updates you can't zoom keyboard, i don't know if this is global android thing tho.

Also jump off the hype train i can bet that like iPhone X still works fine...I remember buying 5s model to try out Apple the same year model X was released and still worked fine..
Also II'm not American so you might think otherwise, i heard you can get rejected in a date for not having "the Phone" (i it ture?)

I have a iPhone 7 Plus not a X actually. And it works fine until it randomly glitches. My old phone started acted like this until it eventually black screened and wouldn’t turn on again no matter what. That’s why I’m looking at new phones early anyway. Just in case I do go with apple the phone isn’t worth anything if it’s broken to the point of not turning on.
I’ve never heard of getting rejected because you have the wrong phone I have heard people got messed with at school for having a “lame” phone but that’s about it.
