Bank Experiences (self.Blind)

Hi all! What do you love/hate about using banks? And do you have any feedback on how they can improve?

Probably one of the biggest frustrations with my clients when using ATM machines is the audio plug.

It's a standard 3.5 mm jack, which is great... but probably about 80% of my clients use iPhones, with earbuds that use lightning connectors. So they need a pair of (usually dollar store) earbuds that have the 3.5 mm jack just for ATM machines.

ATMs, airliners, and I still have a stand alone dictaphone because it's just easier. Call me Aunty Jan, really.

maybe banks should start having adapters but not sure how that would work by preventing theft and things like that

That’s why I carry an old pare of apple headphones with me.

These online banks like Stalin et cetera should have a system where you can email in photos of your documentation or something like this because taking pictures of that kind of thing from the app with sited assistance is not really very good.

I have zero problems with my banking. I was able to get them to send me statements in Braille in the mail, for either my main account, or my Visa. I do all my banking online, paying bills and transferring money electronically and frequently checking my balance.

I’m with barclays, a UK bank. I wish they’d braille or email your card details to you if you ask for it.

Do you find yourself just learning your card numbers? I know my bank account number and sort code, plus the international banking number which is sort of the same thing with some extra bits, and two card numbers off by heart. It's sort of a party trick.

Oh and my unique taxpayer number and national insurance number now I think of it. I do theoretically have an American social security number too but I never use it...

Hey, another number person! Do you repeat them back to yourself kind of sing-songy? And do you find numbers easier to remember than names?
DrillInstructorJan 3 points 2y ago
Not really, I just know them, and I curse and swear when any of them changes for any reason.
bradley22 1 points 2y ago
Nah, it’s just written down.

How did you get an american social security number? I thought you were from the UK?

Born in California, moved here when I was 2!
