Wondering if there is any similar app where blind/VI people can request descriptions for photos/videos from sighted people?
Thank you in advance!

Be My Eyes is the most similar.

Be My Eyes is video calling assistance though

It's the most similar to what you're looking for if you want human assistance.

There's another one called taptapsee.

Yes, something similar to that, except human assistance instead of AI

Aira (aira.io) may work. Seems similar to Be My Eyes but with trained employees, not volunteers. I'm sighted, with a VIP family member, so I haven't personally used it.

Aira and Be My Eyes are video calling apps for assistance. I was thinking of something like BeSpecular where you just upload a photo/video and volunteers can answer?

Yes, I understand that but I don't know of any. I volunteered on BeSpecular for a while but never come across a similar one.

Sadly, don't know of an exact copy. If they don't want to maintain it, I wish someone would pick it up. It's a cool concept and different from what's out there otherwise.

Very true. It's like /r/descriptionplease but in app form. Very very helpful.

You Describe. You can submit videos for audio description. I don’t know what their back log looks like though.
