I believe android has a Zoom function as well
TeamRedwine 5 points 2y ago
Get into your accessibility options and use the zoom feature. I use it all the time.

I have an android and I actually find the zoom function on android easier to use than the one on iphones. Go to accessibility and turn it on and you'll be golden

Let me start by saying I am not a lawyer.

I think there are work arounds, sure, but why not go try to go straight to the source of the problem? Companies get sued for not making their websites and apps accessible, and the same goes for physical stores. Why not hold software makers up to the same standards? These laws might not exist because the smart phone is relatively new to our society.

I think Google needs to be held accountable to the same accessibility standards other businesses are held to.

They can still use talkback so it's technically accessible
BanalPlay 1 points 2y ago
That is true! But I think there is always an opportunity to redefine what "accessible" means. People can be born deaf and lose vision over time. Or someone with partial vision loses their hearing and now just needs a larger font. Or, maybe they simply prefer to read and need their hearing for other tasks.

Google has the resources and it is easily doable. They had it just decided not to continue to support it and design for it.

Dominoes got sued and they argued the burden was too great for them. They earned billions of dollars on online sales and the estimated cost to make their site accessible? Around $30,000. They fought for years in court spending God knows what.

I say this as someone in front end development, it is not difficult to do. I was surprised to learn this was discontinued.

I have the same phone I believe, don't know the answer to your question, but I do like my phone on invert colors.

You could try installing a custom distro of android but you’d have to get someone to do it for you. (The font is tiny)

Android has the triple tap to zoom, font size embiggoner and dark mode. Three things that make this Arpee's life a lot easier 😁👍😎

Upscaling the fonts isn't the method to go with for phones.

It can heavily distort the intent of content by misshaping the area the text is in or whatever else could be on screen.

Using the screen magnifier is a far more appropriate means for 'enlarging' or 'zooming' the text and reading things easier.

Should be a triple tap, similiar to Apple's tri-finger triple taps to bring up the screen magnification. Adjust in accessability settings.
