IF SOMEONE MENTIONS STEVIE WONDER OR HELLEN KELLER TO ME ONE MORE TIME (self.Blind)
submitted by notcheska
LMAO I know they’re trying to relate and these are the most notable names in pop culture-

but I’m kind of tired because these are always my nicknames too & it’s kind of annoying how whenever I can’t do something they use these two as an example

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day <3

I hear ya Ray. Really frustrating.

In all honesty though it is annoying. I have been told I play piano just like ray charles. What, you mean because I put my fingers on the keys without looking? Cause I sure am not that talented. Nor do I play the same music.

> What, you mean because I put my fingers on the keys without looking?

I used to do that before my sight loss.

Mainly because the combination of stage lights and the 'chemical enhancements' I had usually imbibed made looking at at the keyboards a bit difficult. lol

lmao the best is when people are like 'have you met stevie wonder?' yes clearly all blind people know each other, we meet up every thursday :/

As a Polish person. This happens to me when they find out I'm really Polish. Hey do you know Wojtek?
Iamheno 13 points 2y ago
Listen Daredevil. . .yeah I get it too.

Just because I’m athletic and active doesn’t mean I “watched” or even liked the Netflix show (I didn’t it was too dark to see anything even on my 70” TV).

‘No, I don’t notice my other senses heightening, I’ve always had a good sense of smell.

Lmao!!! I’m half blind. I only see out of one eye…. I mean I rather be called Helen instead of Mike Wazowski haha!!!
TwoSunsRise 4 points 2y ago
Same! But we're more cyclops haha. For OP though, I have fully blind people in my family and I've actually never heard anyone say anything about Keller or Wonder to them. I can imagine that would be annoying!
[deleted] 4 points 2y ago
Lmao!! I forgot about cyclops!!!! Oh man I have not heard that in so long lol

I try to nick name people off of the first event that makes them piss laughing.. or makes them that super cute shy version of proud.

My friends include:

Nurse Em.

Bananas.

Tinkle Boy.

and Daddy Pete.

It would be a funner happier world if everyone did that.

They call me dash.

Big Daddy Pete.

If I do my hair a certain way people say I look like Nancy Pelosi, who is a three thousand year old American politician. I'll take Helen any day.

My favorite experience like this was when I was in a literature class in college and someone pointed out that all the poet who wrote Epix were blind and I said well I guess I know my life calling now
Superfreq2 3 points 2y ago
Hey!!!

You forgot Ray Charles
Winnmark 1 points 2y ago
Lol
Ant5477 2 points 2y ago
That gets old over a period of time, I did a video on that, I am a blind social media influencer, that used to bother me
Winnmark 2 points 2y ago
Well, Wonder is rolling in that cash money so... I don't know, could be worse.
AutisticPearl 2 points 2y ago
Lol I'd rather be daredevil
Winnmark 2 points 2y ago
Same.

Why are these down voted?

This and the “what type of dog is that?” To my black guide dog who is clearly a lab.

I like to mess with people so the other day I said “dog? They told me this was a cat!”

They left out Ray Charles? The audacity!
