I have to question one part of this, where they talk about meeting other people with sight problems. That can be really good, for all the reasons that they talk about in the video. It can also be a bit offputting for several reasons. It shouldn't be a massive shock to anyone to learn that different people have different perspectives on things and it's quite possible for two equally blind people to disagree a lot. I went from normal sight to nothing in a matter of a few hours and I had a very strong reaction to people who had often been blind from birth and felt very differently. I cared, they didn't.
It's been a long time and I'm probably a bit more mellow these days, but I still disagree with those people quite often on a lot of subjects. Assuming everyone who's in the same situation feels the same way about it is no better than the sort of stereotypes society in general puts on people. So sure, find solidarity where you can, but don't assume it'll always be there, because it's not always the case.
