Oh yes, as a gamer myself I know all too well about people taking advantage of accessibility features. It’s a real shame as it will stop the big developers from implementing these features eventually as games become more competitive.
Depending on what side of the fence you sit on, I’m either a brilliant parent or a terrible one haha. He very much knows the difference between real and fantasy / right and wrong etc so think I’d be fairly good with him playing some slightly more ‘mature’ games. In reality, a lot of the age restriction comes from the gore and graphic nature in these games, of which he can’t take a lot in anyway.
I’m trying to teach him about using the audio queues in shooters. For the most part they have brilliant 3D audio now so can literally hear exactly where someone is shooting you from. It’s helping but it won’t be enough to make it a fair fight.
He absolutely loves rocket league and will happily sit there for ages playing (not really knowing what he’s doing mind you), but his friends don’t play it so doesn’t often opt to play it. I’m sure he’ll find his niche soon, and until then I’ll just keep searching for the options haha
