So, my sister brought home a puppy dog and I'm worried...(self.Blind)

Hey guys! So my sister brought home a small puppy dog. It's small like a size of a loaf of bread. It'm worried coz I stepped on it I guess 3 times... it might bite me next time... so, I'm thinking of ways on how will I know if the dog is near me so that I won't step on it again. Since I'm blind, I was thinking of buying a tag with a bell, so that I would hear when the dog moves.
Any suggestions will be appreciated :)

He'll eventually lear not to get under foot, but a bell on his collar isn't a bad idea.

A collar bell?

yeah I was thinking of that one

We have cats, no bell collars. I tend not to pick my feet up fully when I walk though, so it’s more kicking them than stepping on them. I try to give them as much love as possible afterwards. They don’t seem to take it personall.

Old man shuffle! But dogs are smart they learn to get out of your way cause if the don’t they know they’ll get bonked!

We put our rabies and ID tags on our dog's collar and I can hear wherever he is throughout the house, upstairs and down.

The metal tags usually make enough noise for me to hear my family’s dog. However, he has a nack for laying down in the middle of high traffic areas, so I have fallen on him a few times. He didn’t get hurt, but I often give him I am sorry treats after falling on him. He is a large German Shepherd, so falling on him versus falling on a tiny puppy is a different story.

I’ll be honest it’s stepped on my 4 pound dogs legs and tail a number of times. She’s always ok and I give her lots of hugs.

You guys are lucky! Our collie trips me up and I'm fully sighted, it could be breed related but she tends to walk closely unfront of us and is a bit skittish. Our 2 cats have habits of shooting right infront of us too

oooohhh.... I might as well get used to our new dog haha

We have a cat and I'm constantly concerned about stepping on her. It's only ever happened once late at night when she fell asleep on the stairs and my partner who can see fine has done exactly the same thing so it isn't even a blind thing.
