Who legally owns EHCP purchased equipment after studies are over? (self.Blind)
submitted by Timely-Fruit
Hi People. I want to keep this short and generalised for now.

If local authority provides the organisation funding for equipment, who does the equipment legally belong to when we graduate? I can't seem to find a specific answer, and would rather not start guessing. I know if local authority provides the equipment, it then belongs to them. But what happens if the organisation buys it from the funding that is authority provided?

The LA pay the education provider to educate you. The provider buys in the equipment for your use during that time.
It belongs to the provider (school,, college, VI unit which may be council run).

In Ireland the department of education owns it. School applies, gets approved, pays for it, then the department of education pays the school back.

Then visiting teachers pass the equipment on to younger kids who haven't been granted equipment yes or who are too young to be eligible
