Do blind people feel a difference between a dark room and looking directly at a light source? (self.Blind)
submitted by Hungry-Law7923
Out of curiosity, i was wondering if blind people can feel a difference between a dark room and when looking directly to a light source or the sun? As a seeing person when i close my eyes the darkness is more intense if im in a dark room so i can tell if im looking directly at a light source.
Thank you!

If someone has more than light perception, they would likely see the difference.

In some cases, it also depends on the bulb. I had a client who used halogen floodlights (the ones used on construction sites) for part of their room, and it was possible to feel the heat from it.

If they have eyes with a working connection to the brain, there is a good chance they can at least tell when they are in a lit space.

Blindness is a spectrum so yes and know depending on the condition

Only if they have light perception.

Technically, I think most totally blind people (and I use that term literally, so no light, perhaps even plastic eyes) would feel the sun, which you almost certainly wouldn't get with a domestic bulb in your average illuminated inside room.
