Do you all know about Bookshare?

**Bookshare is free for U.S. students of any age with a qualifying disability.** A Bookshare membership is also free for New York Public Library patrons. Everyone else with a qualifying print disability pays less than a dollar a week for unlimited reading. Membership is available worldwide. $1

Thank you to the mods for letting me post about Bookshare!

I either listen to audio books or read them in Braille (which takes up a lot of space) I sometimes use my Braille display screen but more often I like to hold the physical book.

I’m sure but Scherer has as many or more books that the national library service here in the United States offers. Every state has a program with well I use the national library services Talking Books library here in Nevada provides audiobooks for people who are blind or print disabled for free. They will Maria mail you cartridges to a machine they’ll send you or you can use an iPhone or android app to download the box over the Internet. Many of the books are commercial audiobooks. Again, for free. I don’t know that much about book share and I know that a lot of people use it but I couldn’t tell you the difference. I find too many books available on Talking Books to really be concerned about needing another service, but I would love to hear other peoples opinions about the difference between these two programs.

In the UK RNIB have Bookshare for education, which is great if you're a student.
If you are not, you're limited to paying for access to the US one with international restrictions, or using RNIB Reading Services, which has DAISY audio and some electronic braille, but ery little ePub or anything mainstream.
This nonprofit website is run by volunteers.
Please contribute if you can. Thank you!
