Accessible board games (self.Blind)
submitted by Carnegie89
I'm a person with vision loss. I can read large print. What are some accessible board games?

Something other than chess, checkers, and scrabble. I have them and like them.

Mancala is a nice classic, tactile game.

Monopoly voice banking is pretty fun there is no paper money and technically you don’t need the deed cards but it’s better to use them to keep track of who has which property it’s up to four players and still really fine with even two players I don’t know if there’s any other accessible ones besides the electronica banking which uses little credit cards I do wish they were more tactile know please correct me if I’m wrong

We play uno and guess who, but might be a bit juvenile for your tastes.

Quirkle is next on our list. Like a shape version of scrabble, you can either link my colour or shape, black tiles with bold primary colour shapes

Look up IQ smart games

Uno is fun in large groups. For 2 players not so much.

I used to play the IQ smart games. At 30 they don't seem challenging enough.

I'll check out Quirkle. It sounds interesting.

There’s a version of sudoku called sudoku touch. It has large print tiles, braille, and tactile markings. I enjoy basic large print playing cards. Not a board game but I’ve found Bop-It to be accessible as it’s mostly tactile. Another good one is the large print version of Rummikub

BopIt was my favourite as a kid and still I get it out every now and then.

I have an ornate chess set.

I have a Braille scrabble.

I have Braille monopoly.

I have regular Braille playing cards and Braille uno cards.

Always looking for more.

Azul, Ingenious, and Blokus are all easy-to-learn puzzle/strategy games with brightly colored pieces and no reading.
