Does anyone know how to use comments on Google docs on iOS? (self.Blind)
submitted by RollForParadise
I shared one of my documents in order to get feedback on one of my short stories, and I asked people to point out any mistakes along the way. However there is a slight problem…

On my phone, along the top I can click on a button called comments. That opens up the comment window and I can see the names and comments on here. But the issue is that let’s say a comment says “delete the space here“
How can I tell where they are referencing?

If you guys have any other tricks for the iOS google docs app please let me know!

I unfortunately only know how to do this on a browser, not iOS.

I tend to avoid docs on iOS as it does not tell you what you just backspace deleted and it is just a major part of it for me.

If you want the info for a browser let me know. Also when in the doc it should say something like has comment but again not familiar with docs on iOS to know how it works differently.

I physically am unable to use a keyboard which is why I stick to touchscreens which can be a little easier for me to handle. But I agree, the backspace thing is extremely problematic. Which is why I do not use Google docs as a writing program. I do my work in Scrivener since it is very accessible.

But I really like to share my work to beta readers in order to get feedback. Fortunately or unfortunately Google Drive is the easiest way to reach a lot of people. It sucks that it’s so complicated if I can’t see where the comments are referencing though…
Would you happen to know if the website would be any easier/helpful to use? I could always try using my browser instead but I’ve never really looked into it. Could you explain what you find easier or helpful on there? Thanks for the help!

as a platform for any sort of text editing, iOS without a keyboard is going to be a pain.

has a list of iOS shortcuts but there's nothing about moving between comments in there that I can see.

Hm that’s a good link if anyone else would like to play around with Docs on the iPhone. However I physically am unable to use a keyboard which is why I stick to touchscreens which can be a little easier for me to handle.
