Has anyone in here that's visually impared ever gone skydiving/bungee jumping before? Or know of someone that's visually impaired who has? I would love to hear about the experience! (self.Blind)

You know why you never see blind skydivers?

It scares the hell out of the dog!

Seriously though it is a “bucket list” item for me.

I’ve never sky dived but I plan to for my 60th birthday in a few years. I can’t wait.

I went sky diving last year. Best experience ever. I went tandum which basically means you're attached to someone. I feel like my lack of vision reduced my fear significantly as you can't really see how far high you are. Jumping out the plane and free falling for about a minute was a surreal experience. You can feel the air almost cutting through and the adrenaline rush is unbelievable.

I would love to go bunjee jumping too but I have arthritis which is currently not controlled so have been advised to avoid it for now.

Any questions on the sky diving let me know.

I went skydiving for my 18th birthday as soon as I was allowed. It was so much fun. You'll probably have to go tandem, strapped to a professional, but that's not a problem at all. It's absolutely amazing. The free fall was the best 30 seconds ever. My guide made the landing out to be a little bit of a struggle and said we'd probably fall, but I slid to a perfect standing landing.

I'd go skydiving whenever I had the time if it wasn't so expensive. It's so much fun, and I can't wait to do it again.

This is so reassuring. My fear has always been that sinceI can't see at all, I'd end up crashing into a tree or something. But if you're tied to a pro, it shouldn't be an issue. Lol. Can't wait to try it out!

Yeah the pro will be controlling everything. It takes a lot of practice and classes for any amateur to go solo diving but going tandem requires no effort or skill at all on your part. They do everything for you. When I did it the guy I was with had done 25,000 jumps

I’m low vision and went bungee jumping. I’m glad I did it, but I don’t think I’d do it again, because it was terrifying. I screamed the whole way down. I don’t know if not seeing the ground clearly made it more, or less terrifying.

Went bungee jumping from a crane on the beach in Rosarito Mexico. Alcohol may or may not have been involved. It is a little unnerving not knowing how long you’re going to fall. Funny how no one bothers to tell you how you get a world-class wedgy from the harness and that you’re not just falling once, but rather a few times since the cord is elastic. Been there done that.

My boyfriend has done bungee jumping and loved it! He wants to skydive really badly as well. I can ask him more about his experience, is there something specific you are looking to learn about?
