As a diabetic if you have a health plan your doctor should be able to prescribe a medical pedicure which a nurse has to do. That would probably be the safest thing.

I have a different vision issue but similar problems with toenail grooming, I’m always told to go to a podiatrist and get the doctor to help you out if you can. Are you able to maybe use an Emory board to file them by feel?

Yeah I feel you there, I’ve yet to find a good solution that matches my budget

One option for toenails, if you want to reduce the risk of injury, is using a file. It takes a lot longer, so it might be better to file the nail down once every few days. Make sure you aren't filing off your skin (hopefully you have enough sensation to feel that). If not, definitely talk to your doctor to make a referral for a place for toenails to be cut.

I’ve been mostly blind since birth and I’m expected to lose my vision even more. At this point, I don’t give a darn about what my toenails look like. I just cut wherever, trim everything else off, and then file file file. However, if you want to get an even cutc my cited mother taught me to cut on the right side of the nail, cut in the center, and then cut on the left. Then just cut off whatever excess there is.

This mostly just takes a lot of practice, and a steady hand. If you haven’t already, I’d also recommend just swallowing your pride and cutting those nails as short as possible, gives you far less to worry about in the future.
