Clinical trial-Stem Cell therapy for Optic atrophy (self.Blind)
submitted by savagewolf57
I recently reached out to a clinical trial regarding optic atrophy. I have a appointment next month to see if I am eligible. Has anyone ever gone through this before? I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what to expect.

I attended an webinar last month put on my the Foundation Fighting Blindness where they covered some of what you can expect if you get involved in a clinical trial. I didn't retain a lot of the info and they said they were recording it so people could watch it again later, but I never received a link to that. Let me see if it's on YouTube or anything. Some of the panelists were really knowledgeable about the process and some were just reps from biotech companies that didn't contribute much of interest.

Just found it! I know it's almost two hours long but there is some good info here if you have the time. https://www.fightingblindness.org/national-vision-webinars#clinical-trials-983

Is that trial registered $1? If not then I'd be wary of its safety.

Good luck! I hope for you you will be eligible, take with you all your medical history. Even evaluation for clinical trial is lots of paperwork, tests and patience.
I was participant for different disease I was taking experimental medication on Phase 2 and 3. It was lot of work for both sides.
