Like a lot of visually impaired folks, I use Talkback and Android Assistant a lot. I hated using my phone in public because I'd either use hqve to my smartphone speakers or earbuds. I don't really like earbuds that much when I'm out because I can barely see, and with earbuds in, can barely hear what's going on around me. I always thought interacting with others wearing earbuds seems rude and aloof.
I recently purchased the JLabs Jbud Frames. They are basically small speakers that clip onto your glasses. They're not perfect, but they have been a game changer for me. Now I can more discretely interact with my phone while maintaining my situational awareness.
The sound quality is good. These aren't ear buds and they can get overwhelmed by loud environmental sounds, but they are fine for listening to music and podcasts. There is a bit of sound leakage, but it's not bad at all. My wife can tell I'm listening to music, but can't make out what it is I'm playing.
I've used them pretty extensively and they last about 8 hours of use on a charge and pretty much all day with light use. You can even use each side independently to double the battery life. Each side has a physical button that controls the volume, answers rejects calls, and activates the Google Assistant or Siri.
People will notice them on your glasses, and they do add some weight as well. There is minor sound leak, but I'd say it'ss very minimal. But the thing I like most is the price: $50. I had been considering Echo Frames or Razer Anzu smart glasses, but with custom lenses, both those options would cost well over $300. While I may some day switch to dedicated smartglasses as they become more streamlined and affordable, I think the Jlabs Frames are a great option for now.
