Flash of light question (self.Blind)
submitted by QuinnDxo
Hey everyone, I’m a low vision member with limited sight due to inoperable dense cataracts and inner cranial hypertension pressing on my optic nerves.

Earlier yesterday I was outside and had trouble seeing out of that eye, though my vision is hazy to begin with it was as if I was trying to look out of dark fabric. Then last night I was lying in bed eyes closed trying to fall asleep. I experienced a pretty weird flash of light from inside my eye. I read that it could be the gel in my eye changing or shrinking?

Have any one else experienced this?

You should talk to. your eye doc ASAP. Shadows/dark curtains in your vision and flashes of light can be symptoms of retinal detachment, which the intracranial hypertension can increase your risk for.

I’m definitely going to do that, I was afraid it could be that. Here’s to hoping he’s in the office tomorrow and able to get me in for a quick visit. Thank you!

If not, go to an ER.
