Audible Vision App Development - Need your support !!! (self.Blind)
submitted by AudibleVisionApp
Dear All, we are developing an App for the low vision and blind community. It aims to empower the users to gain self-reliance in daily routine tasks & pandemic safety. App leverages AI to help them perform daily chores on their own like - identifying products, finding expiry date, pandemic safety if people are wearing mask, read documents and many more.
You can try the FREE Beta app which is available for download.
We need your support to develop the complete app, kindly contribute towards this campaign to make it happen - $1

Doesn’t seeing AI does the exact same thing? Aside from identifying people without masks, which I am not sure how that will be done, there’s already an app that does this and much more. Can you please explain how this is any different from others?

Thank you for your feedback. SeeingAI is not available on Android platform and 90% of blind users are from low income countries with access to low cost Android phones. Audible Vision App initially available on Android, provides value over existing apps in multiple ways:
1. **Innovative features** \- There are some apps in market which does have some of the above mentioned features but are missing smart features like integrated pandemic safety, expiry
date, crowd detection.
2. **Cost & User data privacy** – 90% of blind population is from low income countries. A free app is available but only for Apple platform; iPhone is not accessible to many. Android
apps are asking for costly subscriptions or providing partial features. Most of
other apps are paid and users living in poverty cannot afford those. Another
free app for Android mandates sharing user usage data thus leading to user
privacy issue.
3. **Voice commands** – Rest of the apps don’t have voice commands. It is essential to provide this for the target users.
4. **Intuitive User interface** – Rest apps have complicated hierarchical nested actions to navigate to a feature, which is not intuitive for target users. We have kept our UI simple left and right scroll for navigation.
5. **Language Support** – Significant blind population is from India who are living below poverty and lack education. Hindi language support provided by our app will help such population.
Audible Vision addresses all these gaps and provides unique features missing in market, FREE to use option, and respects user privacy.

Why is it essential to provide voice commands when we already have a perfectly reliable way of interacting with our phones?

While I don’t entirely agree with your requirements, I do nevertheless respect what you’re doing here. I’m not an android user myself anymore, however I do agree with you that the platform certainly needs better options, and I hope this takes off.
Good luck.

Ultimately the goal is for betterment of the community. The more the options and competition, the better end results for the users. Thank you for the good wishes Arqeria :)

Plus, you may want to consider a different name. Audible vision puts me in mind of Amazon audible, the audiobook service, and I’d imagine I won’t be the only one to make that connection.

Thank you for the feedback regarding App name. We will certainly keep that aspect in mind.
