Touch Typing On Phone (self.Blind)
submitted by JosephSeabourne
So, I used an iPad with just zoom for the first 14-15 years of my life. I had a phone, but didn't really use it because it was inconveniently small and I didn't understand Voiceover. In the last year or so I have decided I want to use my phone more just because it's a bit more socially normal, I understand how and now use Voiceover, and it is obviously easier to carry around. But, when I type, I still automatically hold the phone super close to my face and use one finger to type, which is long, tedious, and inaccurate so I have to constantly correct mistakes. I know it is possible to hold my phone at a normal distance, and type with both thumbs, as everyone else does, just by memory and listening to the typing feedback from Voiceover. But I'm really struggling to do that accurately. It does just take practice I know, but anyone have any tips?
I know I can use dictation, but personally I find that way too inaccurate and prefer to type.
