seeing ai (self.Blind)
submitted by Odd-Night-2604
hello! I am totally blind and yesterday I was reading something with the short text reader of seeing ai and then I thought of an idea. I don't know about other people, but for me sometimes it's hard to get the text just right, especially if that text is in a small space. so I was thinking: what if seeing ai could vibrate to let you know if you are right on the text or a different vibration to let you know you're getting closer. what do you guys think? also, if you have any other app suggesttions please let me know. thank you so much

That’s a good idea.
It would be helpful.

You could do a quadripple tap with three fingers to copy the last spoken text to the clipboard. Failing that, you could switch to the document channel to retain the text that way.

Sorry, I do not know the name of that app either.

I recall a video from The Blind Life on YouTube talking about a new app coming out that does something like that and it seemed better than Seeing AI. Sorry I can’t recall the name of the app. But it seemed promising!

Document channel does this kinda, in Seeing AI, but short text channel does not, no.

I’m pretty sure the app KNFB reader does this. It’s like $100 though and not sure how much it’s used since seeing ai came on the scene

I try to use it, although it doesn’t seem to be that accessible anymore. Thank you though
Laurax-1994 2 points 1y ago
Oh wow I can’t believe they broke the accessibility on it! That used to be the gold standard

I know, that was an amazing app and I loved it.

Hey there- when'd they break it? I used it only recently and it worked.

VoiceDream Scanner does edge detection and it is fairly inexpensive. It also processes all data on device. Perhaps that is the app you are thinking of?

They might have added the functionality to VoiceDream Reader but I hgave both apps installed at the moment so I am not sure. Both are worth the money if you have some spare change.
