unfortunately i don't have any resources to offer for studying or learning braille, however there is a trick that i picked up on that made learning uncontracted grade 1 braille extremely easy. that tip being that you only need to memorize letters a through j. everything after j is just adding a three dot or a six dot, because it just cycles through the first set and adds the additional dot after each cycle. the only letter with an exception to this is w, which is dots 2, 4, 5, and 6.

hope this helps you out a bit in your adventure into learning braille!

I have been using Braille for ten-eleven years now (wow...) and only discovered this a few months back. Can't believe I never knew this. Would have been so much quicker to learn 😂

I learned on UEB online: https://uebonline.org/

RNIB also has some braille learning materials and advice on their website: https://shop.rnib.org.uk/braille-and-labelling/learning-braille

Hope this helps!

UEB is great! I am a sighted Person, and my boyfriend can still See Well enough to visually learn Braille but will eventually go blind.
We're both doing the UEB course and its actually Not that hard and a lot of fun aswell.

I personally used letter tiles I got from Maxi-Aids. I constantly quizzed myself with those then had someone else Braille short stories with a slate and stylus for me to read. I’m still learning the contractions, but I can read labels and make notes for myself and I even read novels in Uncontracted Braille via a refreshable display.
