If he doesn't use a white cane, consider getting an ID cane. That way at least, most people would get a sense that he may have some visual impairment. If this is from friends and family, explain to them he's not faking. If they continue to act this way they aren't your friends and any family that does this needs to be low contact. People often think I see better than I do and I have to correct them. I don't go into detail I just say something like, "I have Glaucoma and there are situations/conditions where I don't see well. I may need to ask you for help or be aware." People are usually taken aback but help out. Good luck to you and your BF.

Omg that sounds horrible I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that I never have. Actually kinda the opposite I’m legally blind and people tend not to know there’s a different between legally blind and blind. So they assume I’m completely blind then when I tell them and when I do something with sight they get confused so I just explain to them and it’s all good.

Wow I didn’t realize I was lucky. I would not keep my cool if someone was like this to my girlfriend. I mean the worse I’ve had to defend her for vision was in middle school we had history together and she is very light sensitivity so she has to very sunglasses all the time. And the teacher kept telling her to take them off. And she was going to because she was nervous so I stood up for her and told the teacher like no she can’t take them off it’s way to bright for her. She can’t even do her school work without them.

Jeez though that sounds terrible. I would be very upset to.
