Tips to playing PS4 games? (self.Blind)
submitted by [deleted]
I used to play a lot of more action packed games like dark souls 2 and rocket league and battlefield. Now that I'm legally blind (central vision loss 20/400 and HM) I can't play anything. The biggest issue is obviously aiming but also text is so hard to read. I do use the zoom function, but it's not enough. I welcome any advice you may bring .

I mostly play PS4 games remotely on the computer these days. Zooming on the computer is a lot easier and more effective. I've also switched to third-person games with auto-aim.

I couldn't ask for someone with a better username for this question hahaha. What 3rd person games are you playing that have autoaim? I can only think of the souls serie.

Haha. Yeah...

Have you heard of our lord and savior The Last of Us Part II? It's fully blind accessible. Control from Remedy has auto-sim and works OK, but has very dark environments. GTA V is supposed to have that on consoles and on PC, if you use a controller.

Oh cool! I'll have to redownload those, thank you!!

Enjoy!

Right now, I'm playing DOOM Eternal on the easiest difficulty too. The graphics are a little muddy, but there are plenty of weapons that you don't have to aim very accurately and the map has very good contrast. And the soundtrack is just way too good to miss - rip and tear!

By the way, another reason to play on PC is you can frequently alt-tab to a walkthrough, if you get stuck.

There are some on both.
But mainly on PC, so my face is right up in the screen anyway.

These are a bit older, but the Space Quest, Kings Quest, and Police Quest games are great.

On the NES there was a trilogy of games (Shadowgate, Deja Vu, and Uninvited) that I know saw release on XB1, so maybe on PS4. It requires reading, but you can take your time.

Maniac Mansion on NES...any if the Lucasarts stuff in PC will be a good time.

Try out the Kingdom series. Its a micromanagement game, little to no text and its a side scroller. The pixel art may be hard to make out some stuff, but your subjects do the attacking for you.

Oh that sounds fun! Where are the games available console wise.

All consoles including PS4, Xbox and Switch. Its even on IOS and Android.

I prefer point and click style games. Much slower paced. Allows for us to look, observe, and register what we see without the need for twitch reflexes.

Oh nice. Are they available on console or only PC? Also how do you read the text
