I used my phone and took photos that I could make bigger. I would also ask clients if they were around, to read me off serial numbers and such. If it was something I could look at in advance I'd study it up close. I'd also have my own flashlight in case I needed it. Good luck!

Obtained my CCNA blind. No great solution here. Can a teacher/assistant help you check out the physical piece of equipment? I used Terraterm to program Cisco devices via terminal. You can verify a lot of what you can’t see with show commands.

I've never needed to use it but the UK has a scheme called Access To work which is supposed to cover any disability incurred costs to allow you to perform your job.
Ironically, the majoerity of ATW claims I personally know about are people employed to help the blind employee claim for travel from Access to Work directly by filling in details of paper travel receipts. Waste of time and money much?
So, if I didn't have helpful colleagues who verify my labelling,I might use ATW for an hour of someone's time. Probably likelier just to get on Facetime or something though. I maintain port lists and button layout files for all the complex stuff I need to manage. Just part of the rest of the paperwork, serials, MACs, all the other jazz that goes along with maintaining infrastructure.
