The Seeing Eye (self.Blind)
submitted by SnooGiraffes5710
Hello, has anyone applied to the seeing eye for a guide dog? What happens after the home visit? Do they tell you you’re accepted on the spot or do they make you wait?

It’s been almost 6 years since I received my dog from the Seeing Eye. I know you have to wait some time, but constantly check your emails, etc. you’re going to have to have some references, take a physical and have your eye doctor send in all your information about your vision. Not sure if they’re delays because of the coronavirus, but I will tell you it’s definitely worth the wait. This is my first service animal and the seeing eye is an amazing place. I had a wonderful experience there and when my current dog retires I definitely will be going back for my second dog. All the instructors are kind and friendly. My instructor was Brian he was excellent. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
