I found a good solution to the Mac on reddit if you have m1 chip (self.Blind)

I am so happy right now. I am screwing around on the computer when I clearly have better things to do. but with that said. You know being a good tech! Heh!
So I got bacon reader to work on my m1 chip MacBook Pro and screwing around on bacon reader with VoiceOver for a moment, here. This is part of the exploring but I thought I would say it’s pretty cool we have an accessible way to do reddit on the Macs now. Instead of going to the horrible website. Sure I can fight with it but why bother? Reddit is just for fun. This makes it at least a bit possible. Well, we will see maybe dystopia can be made to work on this too whence it is publicly released.

Yes it will. Last I tried to lobby the dev of it there’s not much of a response. Posted to the dystopia forms to communicate but with the official dev there is no reply. I could try e-mailing or submitting feedback through the beta appp and that may be better may elicit a response but yeah, haven’t had time to do any of that.

Hi guys, just trying to resurrect this thread, I had installed dystopia in the past unofficially on my M1, now you can install it through test flight with the release of Monterey,, the developer has added support

Hi this is really interesting. How did you get this to work on the M1 Mac? Is there any clients for Intel Max?

unfortunately I don’t know of any that would work on a intel mac, which is why this is so exciting. I think reddit has something and I think there are some out there but it is not that accessible or just as clunky as the site.
on the m1 mac though you can use mobile apps which is the huge new things about the m1 development. that’s why the big excitement over m1 chip. there are many more new things but this is an exciting one. it also makes the m1 more powerful. there are a few drawbacks but it doesn’t always effect everyone. m1 is still new so coding is not as good on it yet. not everyone has caught up yet. not all apps are ready for m1 chips and older apps won’t work on it.
as to how you get bacon reader or apollo on there you go to the App Store in your menu bar. go to your name and if you have previously got it on your iphone you can download it if not downlload it and you can also download it on your mac. beta testing apps I don’t think works on m1. I can try and test test flights app on there but I really don’t know yet. so as far as I know dystopia won’t work on the m1 yet.

Using the old reddit layout on a desktop browser, Mac or Windows, isn't very uncomfortable, provided that you take the time to learn it properly. I can hardly imagine the phone experience, or even a desktop client, being that much better. I use reddit daily on a desktop browser and quite frankly it's the site I feel the most comfortable with. However I'm taking a mental note to try an iOS client once an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro arrives at my home, which I'm hoping to happen soon.

It’s nice. It’s a bit different. Do you use ios using an app on that makes a difference.
And yeah, probably could familiarize and work with it to some degree but why bother the clients are easier. There’s a blind client for windows too.

Awesome! I'm waiting for the next generation of Arm Macs and simultaneously planning to use my Intel one for as long as I can, but things like that make me very excited for the future.

Yeah, definitely need m1 chip. But it is a exciting future. Technology is quite good, enabling, and does a lot!!!! It has come a long way and is quite amazing. We had guests and I was telling one of the young gals who was born in to the digital generation they were born after 2000 how it is different. It’s been an interesting thing to watch for sure.
And yes.I suggest you keep your intel mac. It’s good but not as good as they promised yet. The problem is a lot of stuff isn’t set up for m1 chip. A lot of it is, most apps. But especially if you play with code and if it’s not swift then things are a little more slow going. I started to learn Java and oh wait….. you could code it but can’t run it. So yeah.
