iOS 15 Live Text feature (self.Blind)
submitted by Broken_Peepers
Is anyone else excited to try Live Text once iOS 15 is released? I think this feature could be a bit of a game changer for VI people. I predict, for myself, it will become my main method of quickly checking my mail.

SeeingAi's short text has done this for a few years.
If I have to open Camera as I have to open SeeingAI, what'll be the difference?

Yes, I'm quite aware of Seeing AI. I believe it will be better since it is a first party solution. Plus, it will be able to take text from anything. I can see myself using it to read signs at museums where there is no accessible formats. Also, I don't believe you can copy and paste the text that is captured in Seeing AI Short Text function.

I have had just as positive results with museum signage with SeeingAI as with paper.
You can copy the last spoken text through VoiceOver from any app and if you need more granular text access there's the document channel.

Apples progress with image accesseability is impressive, but the first party solution holds no water when camera APIS are so robust. I'm not saying the feature won't be brilliamt - just that I'm yet to have cause for anything different to what I'm already using.

Great points. I'll mark you down as a "no" for my original question.

I’m curious to see how it works with voiceover.
I can’t wait to try it
