Microsoft Magnifier alternatives? (self.Blind)
submitted by PurpleLeroux
I've yet to update my windows computer for the updated version of Magnifier is more rigid with its movements and has a jittering effect overall as I read text. Is there possible alternatives or a way to download the previous version?

I use the Windows 10 magnifier on the daily. What problem are you having with it, exactly?

I’m mainly concerned with the updated versions mobility. It feels more rigid and confined when I use the mouse to maneuver my screen. It also creates a odd bluring effect on the edge of my screen trying to adjust itself to my movements. Couldn’t quite figure a way to resolve it.

On Windows 11?

Try to see if you can change where your mouse is, either centered or on the edge. It should be in the settings.

It sounds like you have the magnifier set to always keep the mouse centered to the screen. I find this particularly annoying as well.

I'll keep that in mind and give it a go, thanks!

Have you tried zoomtext?

Haven’t used it in years. Remember not being too fond of the program and how slow it ran. May be time to give it another go if I can’t solve this conundrum.

I doubt this is the answer you want but.... I use linux, and the flavor of linux I'm on has a pretty nice default magnifier. I've been using it for several years now with little complaint.
