Advice needed: accessible image editing software (self.Blind)
submitted by So_Motarded
Hey all! I'm asking on behalf of a friend for recommendations. TLDR: does anyone know of image editing software which works well with NVDA, and can do transparency?

Longer version: friend of mine is a completely sightless Twitch streamer and youtuber, who is looking to make catchy thumbnails for his youtube videos. We had an idea where we could throw together a few templates for different types of videos, and he could swap in screenshots, reaction photos, or text overlays for each vid. I can assist with setup of course, but ideally we'd want the bulk of the work to be doable by him alone.

He uses NVDA, and the features he'd need include:

- Transparency

- Layers

- Text boxes

- Ability to reposition and resize layers and text boxes with coordinates

- Switch between layers, and import new images

Any ideas? Thank you!

Perhaps $1 on the command line?

Yes, I second a vote for this. You could set up something with batch/script files to run ImageMagick (or Irfanview, also free, lots of options but not as many as ImageMagick) to do many of the things you mention.
