How to delete a YouTube video using JAWS? (self.Blind)
submitted by grinchnight14
There's a few videos on my channel that I just don't need to have on there anymore. How do I delete them? Everywhere I've seen seems to mention three dots, but obviously that means nothing to me lol. There's no delete button anywhere. How do I do this?

I’m sure this isn’t the only way to delete a video, but this seems to work for me using NVDA.

From the Your Channel page, I go to the “Your Videos” button from the navigation landmark. This opens a new tab.

In the new tab, the main landmark should have the h1 of Channel Content. Tabbing through, there’s an option to Filter your videos. Underneath that, there’s a table with all your videos. Navigate through the table to the video you want.

From the video column, hit tab. This is where the buttons will be. There is Details button, Analytics button, Comments button, View on YouTube button, and then the Options button. Select the Options button.

This opens a list of 5 menu items. The last option is Delete forever. Select this.

A dialogue will open with a checkbox to confirm your permanent deletion of the video. Check the box and select Delete Forever.

Hopefully that’s enough detail to navigate to it in JAWS. Let me know if you need more help.

Yes, as u/gunfart said, it should be the same steps in JAWS as in NVDA. Some names may be read slightly differently, but NVDA and JAWS are reading from the exact same DOM. You should be able to use that walkthrough to navigate to video deletion in JAWS.

the three dot menu is also called "action menu", or at least it is referred to this this in nvda
