You and I both know the problem isn't going to go away just because you're ignoring it. Nothing you learn from this visit will make the problem worse, but it might make it better.

While I agree that it's unlikely to be "all in your head" so what if it is? That's where your brain is. If you *did* have a functional neurological disorder the excellent news is that those conditions are treatable. The social stigma around things being "in your head" is ridiculous. "In our head" is how we perceive and process reality, of course things sometimes go wrong with those processes! So I definitely wouldn't let this (unfounded) fear stop you from seeing a doctor.

For me personally, I get mad nervous before my appointments. I have one coming up next month and I'm already nerved up. But for me I work myself up and when I follow through generally find it's not as bad as my anxious thoughts expecting the worst. I wish you the best of luck and encourage you to keep your appointment.
