No we don't all fidget. Don't stereotype all blind people.

Quick response: this is incredibly ableist and offensive, and you should consider taking it down. It is ignorant. Most blind people don't fidget, and you are a bigot that needs to deprogram your biases

Detailed answer: your experience likely stems from a self-selection issue. Blindness is also associated with other medical diseases (e.g. blindness can come from genetic issues, which may also link to genes that cause behavioral issues). This means there may be a weak correlation between blindness and behavioral issues. However, many people are also \*just\* blind, and those of us who are \*just\* blind, without other associated behavioral medical issues, do not rock.

Depends on the person because not all blind people do it. Some it has to do with what their eyes are doing. I know a couple people with nystagmus where their heads shake sometimes just because their eyes are and it’s an unconscious thing. Sometimes they are called blindisms. Many times people don’t realize they are doing it. Sometimes it’s a stim.

in relation to deaf people being loud it is simple. deaf people act naturally, you act unnaturally and expect them to do the same.

same thing goes here.

some of us rock, because that is a natural behaviour, what it does for us varies depending on the situation.

it mainly only occurs in people who were born blind or went blind in childhood as they have not been re-programmed by society yet. then when they grow up, the vision loss acts as a barrier to conforming, you can't peer pressure us into behaving like you by showing us that we are the only one doing it, sort of thing.

I was told its more a vestibular, proprecption thing. Maybe it's just trying to get more input from the world

I don't fidget, but the internal anxiety of having no visual stimulation has caused me to start chewing the inside of my cheek. When I listen to audiobooks I literally feel like I want to run in circles out of boredom
