Singing Screenreaders and other Blindness Audio (self.Blind)

Hi all,
A looong time ago there were some files making the rounds in the blindness community. Some audio wizards had figured out how to make various speech synths and screenreaders sing, rap, perform little skits with each other, etc. I've found one site that seems to have a few of these, but I know there are many many more. Blind of Reddit, do you have any funny, interesting audio produced by our community using our tech? Or any great blindness audio moments of any kind? I'd like to start some sort of digital repository documenting and preserving all of this history. Here's the site where I stumbled upon some of these goodies! I'm excited to see what you all have lurking on your hard drives!

There was a massive archive of this stuff that was shut down in the 2010's due to hosting costs. I have something like 400 megs of it, but I'm not willing to pay the hosting, either. Also, much of it is copyright violation (unauthorized covers of existing songs) or written by teenagers (containing content that is homophobic, racist, attacks members of the "scene" at the time, and so-on). If you want it, PM me and we can figure out a way to do the transfer. But I don't own rights to the content, rights to the songs covered, and I take no responsibility for anything in the archive; I just grabbed a copy before it went down. If you want to create an actual website to make this material accessible, you're going to need to figure out all of that stuff yourself.

Hard disagree. Nobody deserves to get targetted by the kind of nonsense drama thrown around by blind teenagers. LOL
