I have optic nerve atrophy, though I do bave vision, though seriously impaired. I had a brain tumor when I was 13, the massive pressure in my cerebellum is what caused it. I've spent most of my adult life, and all of my teenage years just trying to pretend I was normal. Obviously that doesn't work. I'm 34F, and I've just recently openly started talking about my disability. It's been a long, long road. I'm not sure I have much advice, but the fact that you're teaching out is an awesome step and I'm sure there are people here wuth promising answers

Understand that your feelings are normal. You're experiencing a loss and with that comes grief. Allow yourself to have these feelings, and try to surround yourself with people who support and care about you. I'd recommend going to talk to a counselor if you're able to do so. Also, start learning how to adapt right now. Don't wait. Learn to use a screen reader to empower yourself to be independent with computers and phones. Learn to use a cane to navigate on your own.
For me one of the biggest challenges was finding new hobbies. I listen to a lot of podcasts and music, and I'm trying to learn new languages.
