They also train miniature horses as guide animals for some people.
Most people with an breathing allergy can tell when they are in the vicinity if they know the triggers. E.g. I start wheezing in the presence of dog, I am wheezing, therefore, I close to a dog.

You would know because you'd be having symptoms. In which case you would leave the area, treat your medical issues, and likely go somewhere else.
Much like those stories of people who tell people they're allergic to something and the person doesn't believe it so they sneak the thing into the food, unknown to the person with the allergy, to see if they react. You don't need to KNOW the allergen is present in order to have a reaction to it.

You're welcome. I'm just thinking to myself like unless you have a long enough list of allergens and for some strange reason the treatment protocol for say, dogs, would be actually HARMFUL if it turned out you had actually been exposed to shrimp, then you just notice you're reacting the way you typically do when exposed to whatever you're allergic to.
Now, IF you truly do have that long list and can't even be near them without risking symptoms and the treatments are directly opposing, I suggest just calling out "hey, is someone eating ___? Does someone have a ______? I need to know so I can appropriately treat my allergy." And maybe even after the pandemic, a mask might be wise to filter some of those allergens from what you breathe in.

I think there are hairless dog guides?
Edit: My minimal research tells me that golden retrievers and poodle are relatively hygienic so they are best for people with allergies. But im sure it would be better to hear from someone in that situation.

I'm allergic to cats, some dogs and horses. But really unless I'm in someone's house, or am petting the animal myself and disturbing the fur/dander it doesn't affect me. My siblings who are allergic to many many things would take a daily antihistamine each morning just incase.
