Where are you from, you might be able to pay monthly for a reader device.

I just had a quick look and most of the readers are very expencive sadly.

As for reading menus, honestly he's probably bettter off asking others to read the menu items to him.

Is he looking for a stand alone device? Or an app for an existing phone? If he has an iPhone, Seeing AI can read short texts

He isn't looking im looking for him. He dosen't use phones and he can't see his phone anymore the one he does have is a flip phone. This is why i need something that is low tech but reads his text for him that isn't a phone. A phone for him would confuse him so he is better at tech then my grandmother but he also doesn't like tech, and refuses to use to conplex things. I really wish he would Because I think it would benefit him but I can't force him to do what he doesn't want to do. And I've been unable to convince him otherwise. However I think I could maybe find him something that does work I just don't know exactly what I could find. I need something that is capable it's capable of reading his texts. Is something capable of reading a book for him. Something capable of reading off his crosswords. So something that can do long sentences. But it has to be Really simple because he won't be able to see the button. :/ or at least it would be hard for him to see it.
Something with a button he can feel that he presses and it auto reads would be great. So Ai with a relitively clear voice. [High sound] cause he also has hearing aids now. The only thing I have found so far is a pen that reads things unfortunately tha pen has a bunch of technology behind it that I think would frustrate him and then he would give up. [Hes convinced hes to old to learn] i haven't had that convesation with him yet. But in the mean time i want to respect the fact he wants simpleistic and work upwards form that. My idea is If I can find some something simple that has a little bit of technology and get hin used to sinple tech i can upgrade it later and he might get more comfortable with the tech. But besides this pen that is complicated with a bunch of buttons he probably won't be able to see soon. That you have the plug into a computer that he doesn't even use and a phone that he doesnt have.
I dont really know what else is out there. But anything that is similar to that but without as many steps would work.
