How can I help Grandfather adjust (self.Blind)
submitted by throwawayanon5268
My grandfather has been legally blind his whole life, however he is now unable to see anything but light. A blood vessel popped in the back of the eye he could somewhat see out of. He doesn't know Braille. He's hard of hearing. Is older and hates technology. He's becoming very depressed and doesn't know how he can continue doing things such as reenactment. How can I/our family help him?

Continue with his hobbies for sure. Could he even attend still, even if he can't participate for now. By family going with him and watching the event you might notice ways it can be adapted, or certain aspects he can still take part in that actually don't need to be adapted. How bad is his hearing? Would noise cancelling headphones during an audio book be better than listening through speakers in a room with background noise?
