No, not that I am aware of. Why not just use a regular telephone?

There's something fun about an intercom or walkie-talkie, especially if it's a party-line setup. It feels immediate and more like a virtual presence. She likes the Echo Drop In feature to get to her live-in help. It would be nice if that could work over IP.

I get what you were saying, but imagine having to troubleshoot network problems from far away instead of just using a regular landline or a flip phone or something simple. It will save you a headache in the long run

amazon echo has drop-in. you say alexa, drop-in on grandma, or she says alexa, drop in on ... whoever you are.
or you say Alexa call grandma, and she has to say alexa answer. Either way it's hands-free.
echo flex in the UK is £9.99 at the moment (less than $15)
